Dave O’Donnell is a Grammy Award winning Producer, Mixer, and Engineer best known for his work with James Taylor, Keith Richards, John Mayer, Keith Urban, Eric Clapton, Keb’ Mo’, Lyle Lovett, Smokey Robinson, and Ray Charles.

Biography

Dave began his career at the world-renowned Power Station (now known as Avatar Studios) working in a wide range of genres. The skill, experience, and dedication he brings to every project has led to long-lasting relationships with many of the artists with whom he has worked.

 

Dave received the Best Jazz Vocal Album Grammy for Kurt Elling’s Dedicated To You, earned three nominations in the Best Engineered Album category (James Taylor’s Before This World, Aaron Neville’s Nature Boy and Deborah Cox’s Destination Moonand an Album of the Year nomination for John Mayer’s Continuum. He’s also accrued five TEC Awards, and received two Emmy nominations for mixing The Kennedy Center Honors and the 2009 Official Inaugural Celebration.

 

Dave recently produced, recorded and mixed James Taylor’s latest release Before This World (Concord), which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, was nominated for two Grammy Awards, and won the TEC Award for Outstanding Record Production/Album. He also engineered and mixed Keith Richards’ critically acclaimed album Crosseyed Heart (Virgin EMI), Bettye LaVette’s album “Things Have Changed” (Verve) produced by drummer Steve Jordan, mixed American Idol finalist Clark Beckham’s single “Need You”, and mixed Sheryl Crow’s newest single “Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You” (Stem). Currently, O’Donnell is working on new music for Diane Scanlon and Patti Scialfa.
