GPS is pleased to announce the signing of Grammy-winning record producer, engineer, and mixer Mark Howard. Howard has worked with musicians across the board, including but not limited to Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams, Eddie Vedder, Marianne Faithful, Willie Nelson, U2, the Neville Brothers, Neil Young, and Peter Gabriel.
After working with fellow musician Daniel Lanois in New Orleans for 23 years, Howard began his solo producing career in 1993, and has since then been nominated for Producer of the Year at the Canadian Juno awards, won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album on Emmylou Harris’ Wrecking Ball, won Producer of the Year for Wailin Jenny’s Bright Morning Stars at the 2012 Canadian Folk Awards, and just last year, was nominated for Best Producer of the Year for The Cabin Project’s latest album.
Howard currently works out of his studio at the Paramour Estate in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Most recently, he worked on the latest Ian Thornley album Secrets which went to No. 1 in Canada, as well as the latest album Standing Still from Nashville singer Ruby Amanfu, which received a 4.5 star rating from Rolling Stone.
