Benjamin Rice started his career at Record Plant Studios in Hollywood, CA as an assistant engineer and quickly turned the relationships he cultivated there into a budding career with Top 40 credits working with artists such as: Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Julia Michaels, Britney Spears, Becky G, John Legend, JP Saxe, James Bay, and Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real.
In 2017 Lady Gaga brought Benjamin in to work on her musical film A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper. He co-produced multiple songs for the film’s soundtrack and vocal produced and engineered the entirety of the album, earning Benjamin the credit of album producer. He co-produced the single ‘Shallow’ with Lady Gaga and received a 2019 Grammy nomination for Record Of The Year. ‘Shallow’ went on to win multiple awards including two Grammys, a Golden Globe, an Oscar, and was listed as the number two song of 2018 by Rolling Stone Magazine. At the 62nd Grammys, A Star Is Born soundtrack won for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.
His recent producing work can be heard on the forthcoming Dead Poet Society album, Fission. Alongside Julia Michaels, Ben co-wrote, co-produced, engineered and mixed the original songs for Disney’s centennial anniversary animated film, Wish.
Benjamin is originally from Texas and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. He’s also a veteran of the US Army.
