Dave began his career at the world-renowned Power Station working in a wide range of genres. The skill, experience, and dedication he brings to every project has led to long-lasting relationships with many of the artists with whom he has worked.
Dave co-produced, engineered and mixed James Taylor’s latest release, American Standard (Concord), which won the 2021 Grammy award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. He received the Best Jazz Vocal Album Grammy for Kurt Elling’s Dedicated To You, earned three nominations in the Best Engineered Album category (James Taylor’s Before This World, Aaron Neville’s Nature Boy and Deborah Cox’s Destination Moon) and an Album of the Year nomination for John Mayer’s Continuum. He’s also accrued five TEC Awards, and received two Emmy nominations for mixing The Kennedy Center Honors and the 2009 Official Inaugural Celebration.
Dave produced, recorded and mixed James Taylor’s Before This World (Concord), which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, was nominated for three Grammys, and won the TEC Award for Outstanding Record Production/Album. He also engineered and mixed Keith Richards’ critically acclaimed album Crosseyed Heart (Virgin EMI), Bettye LaVette’s albums Things Have Changed and Blackbirds (Verve) both of which received Grammy nominations, and her latest 2023 release, LaVette! (Jay-Vee). Dave also mixed American Idol finalist Clark Beckham’s single “Need You”, and mixed and engineered Sheryl Crow’s 2019 album Threads (Big Machine).
More recently he’s been working on several independent productions, for artists including Lindsay Lou, Danielia Cotton, and Stella Katherine Cole.
