Dave began his career at the world-renowned Power Station working in a wide range of genres. The skill, experience, and dedication he brings to every project has led to long-lasting relationships with many of the artists with whom he has worked.
Dave received the Best Jazz Vocal Album Grammy for Kurt Elling’s Dedicated To You, earned three nominations in the Best Engineered Album category (James Taylor’s Before This World, Aaron Neville’s Nature Boy and Deborah Cox’s Destination Moon) and an Album of the Year nomination for John Mayer’s Continuum. He’s also accrued five TEC Awards, and received two Emmy nominations for mixing The Kennedy Center Honors and the 2009 Official Inaugural Celebration.
Dave recently produced, recorded and mixed James Taylor’s latest release Before This World (Concord), which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, was nominated for two Grammy Awards, and won the TEC Award for Outstanding Record Production/Album. He also engineered and mixed Keith Richards’ critically acclaimed album Crosseyed Heart (Virgin EMI), Bettye LaVette’s album “Things Have Changed” (Verve) which received two 2019 Grammy nominations, mixed American Idol finalist Clark Beckham’s single “Need You”, and mixed Sheryl Crow’s newest single “Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You” (Stem). Currently, O’Donnell is working on new music for Sheryl Crow and James Taylor.
