MARK RANKIN

Mark Rankin is a music producer, engineer and mixer based in Los Angeles. He is a 3x Grammy Award winner for his work with Adele and Harry Styles, and has received multiple Grammy nominations with artists such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Florence And The Machine, Iggy Pop, and Foster The People. Mark has worked with a variety of artists including Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers, Spoon, Weezer, CeeLo Green and more.

Biography

Mark “Top” Rankin was born in England and started his studio career as a house engineer at the London Exchange Mastering Studios in 2004. His first session was with the electronic duo Basement Jaxx.  Mark won the Music Producers Guild Award for Breakthrough Engineer of the Year in 2010 and also for Engineer of the Year in 2015. He was nominated for this prestigious award in most subsequent years. For many years Mark was a primary collaborator as a recording engineer working alongside producer Paul Epworth, and during those years engineered records for artists such as Adele, CeeLo Green, Bloc Party and Kate Nash to name a few.

 

Mark won 2 Grammy Awards for his work on the Adele album 21, winning Album of the Year 2012 as well as Record of the Year 2012 for “Rolling In The Deep”. His work on Harry Styles’ album Fine Line, featuring the single “Watermelon Sugar” won the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance, gave him his 3rd Grammy in 2021.  Mark has also received multiple Grammy nominations for his work with Queens Of The Stone Age, …Like Clockwork, Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression, Florence And The Machine’s Ceremonials and Foster The People’s Torches.
